Jogi Low accuses Mesut Ozil of ‘exaggerating’ racism claims

Jogi Low faces the German press

On Wednesday Jogi Low faced the German press for the first time since this summer’s World Cup debacle.

Germany arrived in Russia as the reigning world champions.

But, following a growing World Cup trend, the world champs were knocked out in the group phase.

So what went wrong? Low cited bad tactics.

Low vs Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil

The biggest story in the aftermath of the German World Cup exit has centred on Mesut Ozil.

The Arsenal star has retired from the German national team in sour circumstances.

Ozil posted a lengthy letter on social media this summer explaining his decision.

He cited racism from inside the German FA as one of the key problems.

Of course, prior to the World Cup, the Arsenal star was photographed with Turkish president Reccip Erdogan.

When Jogi Low was asked about Ozil’s retirement, the German coach revealed he’s still not spoken to the Arsenal star.

Moreover Low questioned Ozil’s racism claims, arguing the blame game had been “exaggerated”.
