Aston Villa announce Yannick Bolasie signing in brilliant fashion

Championship outfit Aston Villa have this morning officially announced the arrival of Yannick Bolasie from Everton.

Bolasie’s Everton struggles

29-year-old winger Bolasie made the move to Goodison Park two years ago for a hefty fee of £25 million, following an impressive stint on the books of Crystal Palace.

However, the DR Congo international’s time on Merseyside has since proven a major disappointment, with Bolasie having managed just 23 Premier League starts over the course of his two seasons with Everton.

In truth, though, the explosive African has not exactly been given the opportunity to express his full potential with the Toffees, with a cruciate ligament rupture suffered in December of 2016 having kept Bolasie sidelined for an entire calendar year.

Bolasie joins Villa

Though the wide-man did return to make a respectable 11 league starts over the second-half of last season, he looked some way short of his best, leading to rumours this summer that Everton were open to Bolasie’s sale.

The last week saw a pair of Championship clubs, in the form of Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, emerge as the outright leaders in the race to secure Bolasie’s services, with the decision over his next destination having been left up to the African himself following talks with both sides.

And, after ‘Boro boss Tony Pulis admitted yesterday that it looked as though his side were set to miss out on Bolasie’s signature to Villa, the Clarets have this morning made the Everton man’s arrival at the club on a one-year loan official, via a brilliant video across the club’s social media channels:
