Chelsea vs Arsenal: Preview | Premier League 2020/21

After a 3-1 win against 19th position West Bromwich Albion, The gunners will travel to Stamford Bridge to face their formidable London rivals Chelsea, who under Thomas Tuchel are enjoying a fantastic run of form and are currently at 4th position in the points table with 64 points.

Mikel Arteta and his side will look to win this tough fixture and atone for some of their failures for this season. Having lost in the semi-finals of this season’s only European tournament and not playing any European football for the next season, which has not happened in Arsenal’s history for the past 25 years. Arteta will look to grab the important 3 points which will eventually help Arsenal to have top half finish in the points table.

For Thomas Tuchel and his blues, it has been a dream run in the Premier League, winning 5 of their last five games. Not only that, he has led this Chelsea team to this season’s Uefa Champions League final and FA Cup, all in his first season. So, for Tuchel and his company, they will look to beat the Gunners and get another 3 points and go up the ladder for the 3rd position and  establish themselves in the top 4 of the points table and finish their Premier League season on a high.

For Mikel Arteta and his side, their experienced defender David Luiz has still not recovered from his hamstring injury. Granit Xhaka will also be out for this game due to his groin injury. Also, Pablo Mari is stilll not fully fit as he suffers from an ankle injury and is not likely to play in the match.

Other than that, Emile Smith Rowe, who suffered a hard tackle during their previous match against West Bromwich Albion has made Arteta most worried and could be replaced by Martin Odegaard for this game.

With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kieran Tierney most likely to make a comeback to the side for this fixture, Arteta will look to rest Bakuyo Saka.
