As revealed by GiveMeSport, Manchester City are ‘targeting’ Bayern Munich duo Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich ahead of a potential 2025 summer move.
Man City have fared well in the latest transfer window and have welcomed Savinho from Girona for £30.8 million and Ilkay Gundogan from Barcelona for free. The former played a starting role in helping the La Liga outfit qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Pep Guardiola’s side has received a handsome profit from the sale of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid. They received £81.8m for him (originally signed him for just £14m from River Plate). Hence, they are financially capable of locking in their targets next summer and have already started working in that direction.

As per recent claims, Guardiola is a long-term admirer of Bayern duo Musiala and Kimmich. He has looked into the details of the deal and has informed the club’s scouts to monitor their performance throughout the ongoing season.
The German pair earns a combined total of £400,000 per week. City have the financial strength to meet their demands.
The only problem would be convincing the Bundesliga giants to sell their key assets. Kimmich is an attainable target and has played under Guardiola before. The 29-year-old would be an excellent alternative to their star defensive midfielder Rodri.
Joshua Kimmich ace has played a couple of games in midfield this season under Vincent Kompany and can also slot in as a full-back when needed. With loads of experience and titles, he will be a marquee signing for the Blues. The No. 6 has less than 12 months left on his current contract.

Meanwhile, Musiala is an important long-term investment for Bayern. They will fight to keep him as his contract expires in 2026, making the deal more complicated for the Citizens. Barcelona, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the young German midfielder.
The 21-year-old has scored 43 goals and provided 31 assists in 161 games for the Bavarian giants. The versatile player will provide more quality in the final third and has the potential to be City’s ‘next Kevin De Bruyne’.
It remains to be seen whether the Premier League champions are successful in luring both Bayern stars next summer. It’s still a long way to go before we see any major developments in this transfer race.
