Its Time, to one of the most awaited soccer derby around the globe – The Manchester Derby.

The blockbuster fixture of Premier League matchweek 12 comes at the Etihad Stadium when the defending champions host arch-rivals Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola, who leads Manchester City at the top of League table is yet to claim victory in the derby at the Etihad Stadium, so would love to change this in the 177th Manchester Derby.

Man United, meanwhile are nine points behind City but both clubs coming into the game off the back of memorable European victories in midweek.

Team News

For City, both Ilkay Gundogan and Nicolas Otamendi are fit and in contention to face Man Utd, leaving Kevin De Bruyne, Claudio Bravo and Eliaquim Mangala as absentees.

Sergio Aguero is expected to get a nod ahead of Gabriel Jesus, who netted a hat-trick in midweek. Raheem Sterling’s place in starting XI looks assured, but has failed to score in all 12 of his League matches against Red Devils.

For United, Romelu Lukaku could return from his recent lay-off. The Belgian international could start on the bench if he recovers in time for the game.

The last time

The last time when Jose Mourinho side visited Etihad was the time when United delayed Manchester City from claiming the Premier League title. City were just 45 minutes away from the Premier League title with a 2-0 halftime lead.

But an astounding second-half comeback from Manchester United put the party on hold. Paul Pogba scored twice inside the 10 minutes of second half stunned Guardiola’s men before Chris Smalling securing 3-2 win at Etihad, putting title celebrations on hold and forcing them to wait another week.
