But UFC president Dana White is so far refusing to play ball with McGregor's demands.

And Stallone, who is best known for playing Rocky Balboa in the iconic films, believes The Notorious should have a way in.

Speaking to TMZ Sports before boxer Canelo Alvarez's victory against Daniel Jacobs at the weekend, Stallone, 72, also hinted he would help McGregor along the way.

When asked if he would "give him a little piece of yours", Stallone responded "of course".

The legendary actor, nicknamed Sly, was one of 23 people who bought shares in the fighting organisation when it was involved in a £4billion takeover back in 2016.

And two others, fellow actor Mark Wahlberg and talk show host Conan O'Brien, have been challenged by McGregor for a fight for their shares.

McGREGOR WANTS WAHLBERG

Speaking previously to TMZ, O'Brien had said: "I will fight him for his [share].

"If he can take me in the Octagon!"

While clearly said in jest, it's a challenge that has since been accepted by The Notorious.

He tweeted out: "Challenge accepted Conan! I’ll whoop you and Walhberg [sic] in the same night.

"Double shares for the Double Champ!"

SHORT RETIREMENT?

SunSport reported that McGregor has already hinted the "retirement" could be short-lived.

The Irish star has not fought since October when he was submitted by arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in four rounds at UFC 229.

A post-fight brawl led to the pair being suspended, with McGregor getting himself arrested and walking away from the sport during his six-month absence.

However, the former two-weight UFC king told his followers on Twitter his deep love for fighting will bring him back to action, and he teased a pay-per-view showdown upon his return.

McGregor said: “I hear you but I love it dearly. If I am being honest with myself I don’t think I will ever be able to fully walk away from fighting.
