There is no question that América arrives in the Finals with all the momentum. After a strong showing in the regular season, they had exciting game after exciting game in the playoffs, and clinched a place in the championship stage with a fantastic 7-2 aggregate victory over Pumas in the semi-finals, including a 6-1 destruction in the second leg at home. They look like the better team right now, and the latest results will give them all the confidence they need.

Cruz Azul will be no pushover, though. They had a very tough semi-final against Monterrey and needed to rely on their higher seed to reach the Final, but they finished first in the standings for a reason, and they had a better defensive record than América throughout the season.

Liga MX fans can’t ask for a better final than El Clásico Joven. The Mexico City rivals have been nearly even in their all-time regular season history, with 20 draws between them and Cruz Azul holding one more win. Their lone meeting in the 2018 Apertura resulted in a goalless draw, and after finishing only three points apart in the regular season, this will be the ultimate battle for supremacy.
