Manchester City would look back at the precious point they earned at Anfield and really not hurt at not taking the entire three as they could have lost all to Mohammed Salah’s sensational goal, it was a point forward in all regard.

Burnley are still without a win in the premier League this season and if there’s a news that would hurt them, Newcastle are expected to reinforce massively in January and that means they have lost one relegation cohorts, they have to brace up or go down.

Burnley had it all in their own hands against Norwich, had they won that one, they would have gotten their noses out of the red zone and build from there, now they have to face the champions who on their own parts need to stay right there on the north side of the log.

There are fresh injury concerns for Pep Guardiola as he confirms that Ferran Torres will be out for a long while, a big blow considering how amazing the Spaniard was over the international break, although La Roja lost the UEFA Nations League final to France, they made a fine statement.

Manchester City can launch Kevin De Bruyne afresh, this is the sort of fixture he needs to reinvigorate himself and after showing why he’s highly rated with an equalizer against Liverpool last time out, it’s time for him to take it from there and set the league ablaze.

The Burley team is thin, we see more of the same all the time but Cornet, the Ivorian that joined over the summer is the leading light this season and he got a goal for Ivory Coast during the break, Sean Dyches will hope he brings the form to the league straight away.

Burnley won’t see more of the ball, they will have to defend deep and try as much as they can to stay disciplined, Jack Grealish will tease them and that can be annoying, but if there’s one player they need to pay attention to, it must be Phil Foden who hasn’t only matured but is actually right where he wants to be.

Look away Burnley fans, the Clarets have lost all of their last five against City, of those five games, only once did they concede less than three goals, and with the log showing something difficult to love by Burnley, more of the same is expected at the Etihad on Saturday

Verdict: City to win
