Manchester United will have the chance of unleashing Cristiano Ronaldo on Westham when they meet at the London Stadium on Sunday, they must win to banish the memories of their shock loss to Young Boys in Europe on Tuesday.

Westham won in Europe in midweek, their Europa game was one where they had to test new legs and they were happy for it, but last weekend they survived Southampton’s onslaught to settle for a point in a goalless encounter at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Manchester United have everything it takes to win the premier league this season and in the wake of Manchester City’s stutter again at home to Southampton, one can say Chelsea will be the major rival for the Red Devils on their way to the title, early days but indications are clear.

There are so many players with points to prove in this one, Ronaldo owes no one explanations but his return to the league must be followed with goals, he has said he’s not back on a retirement plan, he has to further show workings but he has started already.

Jesse Lingard returns to the club that gave him a second chance, he was on loan to the Hammers last season and he lit up the league, but despite playing in a World Cup semifinal, scoring in two cup finals and having over 300 caps for clubs and 30 for England, he still seems to have something to prove.

David Moyes was dismissed by Manchester United after a poor run of results, he didn’t do well in Spain and also struggled on his first attempt at Westham, but he led the Hammers to a season to remember last time out and has to prove everything they achieved last season was no fluke.

How will they line up? Westham can’t call on Antonio who was sent off at St. Mary’s so they can deploy Benrahma upfront or Jarod Bowen, there’s so much quality in the Hammers set up and they may even hand a starting berth to Kurt Zouma.

United will rely on the trio of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo, the hosts will have to deal with fire powers from these lots and should they contain them well, they might have a story to tell but good luck to them on that.

Westham last beat United about 2 years ago with a 2-0 success on this ground but have lost three of the last four and got a draw in the other, history isn’t kind to them in this fixture and then, Ronaldo loved this fixture in his first coming…

Verdict: Manchester United to win
