Barcelona's chase of the Italian seems to have taken another twist as PSG has placed a high value that is too high for Barcelona to match, the Catalan giants have inquired about France midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia as an alternative for Marco Verratti.
According to ESPN, Kondogbia will be an alternative for Barca if they fail to sign PSG's Marco Verratti.
Other options in place are Nice’s Jean Michael Seri and Juventus’ Pjanic, while it is believed that Barca is also scouting Guangzhou Evergrande’s Paulinho.
Kondogbia played for Sevilla in the past where he was instrumental in their 2013/2014 Europa triumph, Sevilla bought him for a fee to be around €4 million from RC Lens.
After his spectacular performance in the La Liga and the Europa League that season, he returned to France in 2013, as newly promoted AS Monaco offered €20m for the defensive midfielder's signature.
He helped them qualify for the Champions League again after a decade, after two successful seasons in France he left for Inter for €36m.
