Premier League predictions: Arsenal to show character, Liverpool’s season in danger

This Premier League weekend presents a lot of intrigue. There are a number of teams who’s season would go both ways with Liverpool, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Leicester City among them. A Win for any of them will create momentum, while any loss of points would make their fans feel unconfortable thinking about he season ahead.

Bournemouth vs Brighton

I don’t know what to say about Eddie Howe’s side. They have been either very unlucky so far or just failed to keep themselves at the same level they played last season. There’s one things which is certain at this point – Bournemouth are already involved in the relegation battle and if they don’t win points within the next few games it is going to be a horrible season. “Back to basics” said Eddie Howe and these words say a lot.

Brighton and Hove Albion are fine now, having won 4 points from 4 games and if they keep working hard, they be safe at the end of the season.

Draw: 1:1

Crystal Palace vs Southampton

Palace look a complete mess at the moment. A new manager, who is not warmly welcomed, fans who don’t believe in the club’s hierarchy, players who need to adapt to a new manager few times an year. I would be surprised in the Eagles survive in the Premier League.

On the contrary are the Saints. They have have also been changing their managers quite often, but somehow managed to keep playing at the same level.

Southampton to win: 1:2

Huddersfield vs Leicester

The Terriers have been impressive so far, but after they have lost for the first time in the Premier League, now they will find how competitive it really is.  Huddersfield have a good defence but they would probably find it hard to score goals in the Premier League.

Leicester have played Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea  so far and they have been unlucky to loose their opening game at Emirates. The Foxes are the better side and if they win against Huddersfield, they;d start climbing the table.

Leicester to win: 1:2

Liverpool vs Burnley

Liverpool have a lot of games to play in September and Jurgen Klopp doesn’t rotate his players. If he keeps going like this Firmino, Mane and Salah will get tired and loose their pace. He probably needs to give game time to Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho and Dominic Solanke.

It is to early to say that Burnley will feel very comfortable in their away fixtures this season, but the Clarets have already won 4 points on their visits this season. Three of them against Chelsea and one against Spurs. If the have won their home fixture against West Brom, they would be at the top wit the two Manchester clubs. Liverpool should be very, very careful this Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool win: 2:1

Newcastle vs Stoke

The season hasn’t started well for the Magpies, but they have somehow managed to win 6 points in their fist 4 games. Newcastle have a world-class manager and if he keeps getting the best of his players, they could finish in the top 10 this season.

Stoke are tough team who are hard to beat. They have hold Manchester United to a draw last week and are capable of winning against any team.

Draw: 1:1

Watford vs Manchester City

Watford are a very good side and they will become even better as they have a great manager in the like of Marco Silva. Manchester City are just too good to the Hornets, however. Watford can get something out of this fixture, if the put a solid defensive performance.

Man City win: 1:3

West Brom vs West Ham

West Brom should win this against the West Ham side team that still haven’t found their rhythm. The Baggies look very stable so far despite that they haven’t played against any top 10 team. It is too early to project what West Ham could produce this season. The 2:0 home win against Huddersfield have bought Slaven Bilic some time. I have a feeling that the Hammers may draw their visit at the Hawthorns, but my projection is different.

West Brom win: 2:1

Tottenham vs Swansea

I’m very curious to see how Swansea will play in this away fixture. Spurs will attack a lot and will open spaces for the Swans. I would not project anything but a win for the home side, however.

Spurs to win: 2:0

Chelsea vs Arsenal

This game comes at the best possible time for Arsenal. Chelsea are the better organized and a the stronger team at the moment and they should win this London derby. Arsenal played against Cologne in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday. It wasn’t an easy game forth, but they won it and should be in a good spirit for the Sunday’s visit to Stamford Bridge. Everyone projects a Chelsea win here. I’l go for a draw.

Draw: 2:2

Man United vs Everton

Something happened with Everton. They should have been much more stable, considering the money they have spent on quality players this summer. The Italian Atalanta trashed them on Thursday by 3:0 in the UEFA Europa League, which was their second loss by 3 goals in just five days (after the 0:3 home defeat against Spurs). Man United should win this game very easy and I thin they will.

Man United win: 3:1
