Henry Onyekuru is already an Everton striker, he will wear the No 9 shirt for Anderlecht next season, however. Everton has loaned the 20-year-old striker whom they signed for £6.8 million from Belgian club KAS Eupen.
West Ham and Arsenal have repeatedly been connected to the player, but Everton have stepped ahead and signed him. Onyekuru has finished last season as as joint top scorer of the Belgian First Division netting 28 times in 57 games.
Everton’s are yet to officially announce the transfer. The player has done it himself on hist Instagram account. Onyekuru has posted an image of himself standing in front of a the Everton’s club crest, at their Finch Farm training facility, he visited to have his medical.
“I have been given jersey number nine at Anderlecht, so that’s my number. I will join the team after the one week break given to me”, Onyekuru told the Nigerian website ScoreNigeria.com.ng. The player has also said that he feels very happy and delighted with this move to Everton, because his first goal of signing for a Premier League team has been achieved.
