Los Angeles will have it own soccer derby, starting from 2018 when the new Los Angeles FC soccer franchise starts in the Major League Soccer. The first high profile signing for the new club located at the Exposition Park neighborhood of LA is the Dutch attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The 33-year-old Sneijder has been one of the most recognizable players in the European football within the last decade. He has played in 376 games for Ajax Amsterdam, Real Madrid, Inter and the Turkish Galatasaray, scoring 102 goals for all 4 clubs. He has also been a key player for national team of Netherlands where he netted 31 goals in 131 matches.
Sneijder is in the last year of his contract with Galatasaray, but as the new Major League Soccer season starts in March 2018, the Dutch player would continue playing for the Turkish club until the end of 2017, before moving to L.A.
