Coming into play Sunday, the Eagles had won their previous four tournament games by an average of 21.5 points and were looking to bring a brighter offensive start than they did in the comeback victory over Springfield Central in the Final Four - one of the closer calls all season.
They did not disappoint, as Loughnane brought 10 first half points to support the two-way energy of seniors Mahari Guerrier, Greg Cooper, Will Doyle, Ivan Yhomby and Connor Strickland.
Guerrier, Yhomby and Strickland led the defensive unit, while Cooper and Doyle finished the first half with momentum-swinging highlights above the rim.
Loughnane banked home the dagger 3-pointer from the top of the key to extend the lead to 61-43 with three minutes to play, which kept a lingering Newton North team down for good.
