After watching Villanova blister Kansas for a Final Four-record 18 3-pointers Saturday night, Dick Vitale wants a change made to the college rulebook.
The veteran ESPN analyst advocates moving the 20-foot, 9-inch line deeper after the Wildcats broke the previous single-game record of 13 threes set by UNLV in 1987.
And over the past three decades, teams haven’t backed away from the strategy.
“They got anything they wanted early,” Self told reporters after the game in San Antonio.
It will be interesting to see how college basketball fans react and what kind of television ratings the championship game receives compared to others.
Self knows all too well what problems the NCAA’s line currently produces after Saturday night.
