Texas 85, Ole Miss 72: Recap, analysis, reaction and more from the Longhorns ...

The Longhorns advanced to 14-7, 4-4 Big 12 with the victory, with their next matchup coming on Wednesday night in a road tilt against Texas Tech.

The Rebels found their greatest success on Saturday early in the first half as Longhorns’ center Mo Bamba headed to the locker room.

Bamba challenged shots inside, cleaned the glass with ease and brought the Erwin Center crowd to its feet with a bevy on rim-rattling slams.

The junior transfer feasted in the paint, benefiting from drives inside by guards Kerwin Roach II and Matt Coleman.

After taking a nine-point lead into halftime, head coach Shaka Smart altered Texas’ defense early in the second half, employing a full-court press.
