DETROIT — Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was in an insightful and contemplative mood when he talked to reporters after yesterday’s morning skate in advance of last night’s 3-2 overtime win against the Red Wings, candidly addressing his career, his age and his future.

But ultimately (McAvoy) can become a similar player, if he’s not already making strides in that direction.

“He’s a happy man right now and didn’t get any sleep (last night),” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said.

In Miller’s place, Paul Postma played for the first time in five games and the second in the past nine.

The Bruins are being careful with forward Ryan Spooner (lower body), who last week returned from injury and was promptly reinjured.
