Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas hails Diego Costa as best-ever strike partner

Cesc Fabregas has paid tribute to the departing Diego Costa (Picture: Getty) Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas says he’s never had a better understanding with any striker he’s played alongside than with departing Blues star Diego Costa.

The 30-year-old has been blessed to play alongside a number of big names for club and country in a distinguished career at Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and with the Spanish national team.

Antonio Conte told he got lucky with Alvaro Morata signing Starting out in Arsenal’s famous Invincible side back in 2004, Fabregas struck up a fine partnership with all-time Premier League great Thierry Henry, and later combined well with Robin van Persie at the Emirates Stadium.

He then moved to Barcelona to play alongside Lionel Messi, whilst also combining with lethal Spain duo David Villa and Fernando Torres at the peak of their powers.

He added: ‘Alvaro is more of a “in the box” striker and has a great goal scoring instinct and attacks the ball so well It’s a joy to play with him.’
