CNHI to merge with Raycom Media


TRAVERSE CITY — Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., owner of the Traverse City Record-Eagle, has announced a merger with Raycom Media Inc.


The merger was announced Monday to employees and is expected to be completed Friday, forming one of the nation's largest privately owned media groups, according to a release.


Raycom Media owns or operates 65 television and two radio stations, covering 44 markets in 20 states.


CNHI owns more than 110 newspapers, websites and niche publications in 22 states.


CNHI will operate as a Raycom Media subsidiary per the merger agreement.
