A day for WVU football fans, team to focus on Mountaineers

West Virginia quarterback Will Grier (7) and other members of the Mountaineer football team shake hands with fans following WVU’s win over East Carolina.

Throughout the week, West Virginia football coach Dana Holgorsen has insisted most of the preparation for Saturday’s noon game against Delaware State has focused on the Mountaineers.

Check to watch the cornerbacks, who caught heat this week from defensive coordinator Tony Gibson.

“We need to understand the grind and what it takes to win a game,” Carter said after his team lost 28-15 at Hampton last week.

Holgorsen praised Grier and backup Chris Chugunov this week as well as the running backs, led by Justin Crawford and his 112-yards-per-game average.
