Why Florida-Tennessee is the biggest game of Jim McElwain's career

He received a raise and a contract extension after each of his first two seasons, including one from current athletic director Scott Stricklin last offseason.

Unless this year completely unravels or UF's ongoing investigation of criminal credit card fraud explodes, don't expect McElwain to go anywhere.

If the Gators put in another underwhelming performance after moving coordinator Doug Nussmeier to the press box, they'll be running out of options — and excuses.

One defeat wouldn't define a season, but four losses in five games combined with an off-the-field scandal can cause a downward spiral, especially in an improved SEC East.

How confident do you feel about extending UF's 30-game win streak over the Wildcats next week if the Gators are still without standout receiver Antonio Callaway and starting running back Jordan Scarlett?
