FSU football news: Jameis Winston an honorary captain for Florida State-Alabama

Many have argued that the Florida State Seminoles facing the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend will dictate how the College Football Playoff looks at the end of the season.

Jameis Winston will serve as an honorary captain for the Seminoles on Saturday, while Derrick Henry will do the same for the Crimson Tide.

Winston, currently the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led Florida State to the last of the BCS Championships.

Henry currently plays in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans, with another former Heisman Trophy winner in Marcus Mariota.

Alabama is ranked as the top team in the country with Florida State currently slotted as the third best in the nation.
