DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers center fielder Mikie Mahtook will get a day off for the first time in five weeks on Wednesday night against the New York Yankees.
Mahtook's last day off was July 19 at Kansas City.
He entered that game in the seventh inning and hit a dramatic go-ahead home run, although the Tigers ultimately lost to the Royals in the bottom of the ninth.

Starting pitcher : RHP Jordan Zimmermann
