Boldin told ESPN's Jim Trotter he is retiring from football to spend more time on his humanitarian efforts off the field.


With Boldin retired, Rod Streater injured and Sammy Watkins in Los Angeles, Andre Holmes might have a chance to make the roster after all.


Holmes is one of the players who qualifies for the compensatory pick formula, giving the Bills added incentive to cut him.


A few weeks ago, Tyrod Taylor thought he would be throwing to Sammy Watkins, Anquan Boldin and Zay Jones.


Eventually, Jordan Matthews will return to the lineup, but the receiver depth chart has taken a few hits in recent weeks.
