It is likely going to be a busy window for Sheffield United as manager Chris Wilder confirmed that they are set to offer Jack Rodwell a short-term contract whilst captain Billy Sharp has been linked with a move.
Sheffield United lost 2 nil to Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield on Thursday night and Wilder made the transfer confirmation on Friday morning, as the midfielder has been training with the club recently. It’s a short-term contract that’ll run till May.
“We’re hoping to get that one over the line this morning. It’ll be a short team deal until the end of the season with the option of extending that.”

Meanwhile, Scottish side Celtic have expressed interest in Billy Sharp. However, when quizzed about the speculation earlier in the week, Wilder dismissed the reports.
“He doesn’t want to go anywhere, I don’t want him to go anywhere. So, as far as I’m concerned, that’s the end of the conversation with him.”
According to the Guardian, Sheffield United are also interested in Blackburn Rovers defender and Irish international Darragh Lenihan. He has reportedly been a target for Wilder since 2017.
