Serie A club Torino have fired Sinisa Mihajlovic, just a day after his side was eliminated from the Coppa Italia by City rivals Juventus.
The announcement was made on the club’s website on Thursday, with appreciation also shown to Mihahlovic for the dedication and passion he displayed in his 18 months with the club.
Meanwhile, Walter Mazzari, former manager of Napoli, Inter Milan, and Watford has reportedly emerged as the likely candidate to replace Mihajlovic at Torino.

Torino has just 1 win in 8 Serie A games and sit 10th on the Serie A log, whilst accumulating 10 draws in 19 matches played.
Mihajlovic was sent off in the course of the game after he protested a supposed foul on the build-up to Juventus’ second goal on the night to effectively eliminate Torino from the Quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia on Wednesday. However, the foul was reviewed by the referee on VAR but was ignored.
Mihajlovic was appointed by Torino in May 2016 and helped the club to finish ninth last season. He was previously sacked by AC Milan in April 2016, and this was also after a loss to Juventus.
