As per the NRR calculations, the Royals had to aggregate 163 runs in a bid to make it to the semifinals of the inaugural edition of South Africa’s premier T20 competition.
In fact, the batsmen of the Royals found it literally tough to get going as they were reduced to 115 for the loss of seven wickets in 15.5 overs.
On the other hand, Jos Buttler played special T20 innings of his career by chipping in with 70 off 45 balls. He smashed as many as four boundaries and five sixes to his name.
Earlier, Pretoria Capitals posted 226 for the loss of five wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Kusal Mendis top-scored with 80 runs off 41 balls including 8 fours and 4 sixes. The Capitals won the game by 59 runs but the Royals made it to the semis.
