Pant was adjudged the man of the match in the Test series decider in Australia. The southpaw scored a match-winning 89* as he hit the winning boundary to help Team India script history in Australia.
India became the first team after 28 years to beat Australia at their fortress Gabba. Even in the third Test match against Australia at SCG, Pant scored a sensational 97 which helped his team settle for a draw.
Talking about his form in the ongoing series against England, he scored 91 in the first Test. After that, he scored an unbeaten 58* in the second Test match. Earlier, he came under fire for his poor wicket-keeping. However, he has sorted out his woes by going through drills in the nets session.
The young wicketkeeper kept the wickets quite well in the second Test match against England in Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. England announced their arrival in style with a series opener win over India. The visitors won the first Test by 217 runs and took the lead in the series. On the other hand, Team India won the second Test by 317 runs to level the series 1-1. One more defeat against England will put Team India out of the race. However, Virat Kohli’s side must win the series by 2-1 or 3-1 in order to book a ticket to Lord’s to play the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand in June later this year.
