Jurgen Klopp praises and criticizes two crucial decision of Bournemouth match

Liverpool manager praises the decision of goal-line technology. But on the contrary criticizes Var’s decision of goal as Trent was fouled as per Klopp.

Jurgen Klopp took a sigh of relief after James Milner’s ‘really long big toe’ aided in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah got their name on the scoresheet and brought three more points in the Reds bag. For the Cherries, Callum Wilson opened the scoring.

Ryan Fraser, however, was the man who looked certain to spoil Klopp’s night when he lobbed Adrian in the second half. But it was the 34-year-old Milner who denied Bournemouth their equaliser by pulling off a goalline clearance in spectacular fashion.

Klopp on Milner goal-line save

The biggest chance fell to Bournemouth, we have to admit that. Milly saved our life in that situation with a really long, long, long, long big toe. Great,” Klopp told talkSPORT.

Klopp on Wilson VAR decision

Having lost their last three games in all competitions, the atmosphere was tensed especially after Wilson’s contentious opener within ten minutes.

The Bournemouth striker appeared to shove Joe Gomez in the build-up, but nothing was given despite a look at the replays, much to the fury of Klopp.

Klopp expressed his disappointment over the verdict and said such decisions have gone against the club far too often of late. However, he resolved to be quiet to avoid criticism.

“From my point of view, it was a clear foul, I don’t know how it’s not a foul,” he added.

“We’ve had a few situations in the past weeks which have been a bit strange but nobody speaks about it after. Nobody mentioned the [Troy] Deeney foul on Trent [Alexander-Arnold, against Watford],” Klopp added.

The German manager said that if people start complaining critics will start calling them bad losers.

With the win, Liverpool have got back on track in their pursuit to the elusive Premier League title. With just three more wins, the Reds will become champions of England ending their 30-year drought.

Liverpool will next play Everton in a mid-week away fixture on March 17.
