La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are eyeing up a swoop for Arsenal superstar Hector Bellerin in the summer transfer window and the Spanish side is willing to offer up midfielder Vitolo as part of the exchange deal.
At the start of the season, Hector Bellerin looked like a player revitalized under new Arsenal manager Unai Emery and it was very unfortunate that the Spanish right-back suffered a knee injury that ruled him out for the second half of the season.
The 24-year-old is still recovering from a knee injury but has shown that he has the potential to play for a big club in the European continent. Bellerin signed a contract extension with Arsenal back in November 2016 for six and a half years and his valuation increased spectacularly. The full-back was on the transfer target list for Juventus but the Serie A champions believed that £50 million was a bit too much for Bellerin.
La Liga side Atletico Madrid is keen on signing the right-back although Arsenal is not willing to sell Bellerin this summer. But the Spanish side is willing to offer midfield gem Vitolo in exchange for the Arsenal defender.
Vitolo played under Unai Emery and the pair won three consecutive Europa League titles during their time at Sevilla before Emery moved to coach Paris Saint Germain. Vitolo then joined the Spanish capital side but has managed to score only one goal in two seasons at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder wants an exit because he is unable to nail down a regular berth at Atletico Madrid and has the opportunity to revive his career under his former boss Unai Emery. Bellerin has also shown a great vein of form since Emery arrived at North London but there is a possibility that he could return to Spain and join Diego Simeone’s side in order to win trophies on a regular basis.
The issue with Bellerin is that he is quite inconsistent but under Simeone, he could become a great defender as the Argentine has a habit of turning players pragmatic. But it’s unlikely that Arsenal will be looking to sell Bellerin because of their defensive woes and Vitolo would have to adapt the Premier League if a deal goes through.
