How Serious Is It?!! Jurgen Klopp provides an update on Fabinho injury!

The midfielder was injured during an end-to-end encounter against Crystal Palace which Liverpool triumphed with a scoreline of 4-3

For Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool 2019 didn’t start in the perfect way. They lost to Manchester City and were out in the fourth round of F.A Cup. The Reds also lost the likes of Deja Lovren and Trent Alexander Arnold due to injuries. The injury to Trent Alexander Arnold put more problems on Liverpool’s defence and title challenge. James Milner is suspended following the red card against Crystal Palace. They may have registered 3 points against Palace but it came with a cost of Fabinho injury. Jurgen Klopp provides an update on Fabinho’s injury.

Jurgen Klopp is sweating over the fitness of Fabinho. The Brazilian hobbled off with a hamstring injury during the 4-3 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. Although Liverpool are not in action until the end of the month, Klopp fears he will be missing the former A.S Monaco man. Liverpool’s midfield seems to be stretched at this moment. James Milner who was deployed as a right back saw a red card. Jurgen Klopp after the game said, “I would imagine Milly out now and Fabinho for sure a doubt. It would have been a massive challenge if we should play on Wednesday and Saturday again.”

The Liverpool boss further said, “I’ve no idea how we would have done that. It would be now two days recovery for the boys with the most minutes. The others train and then we start preparation for the Leicester game which is another tough task. But it won’t be a real break. We will use it for training.” Liverpool have been plagued with injuries since December. However, they expect Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez back for the visit of Leicester on Janaury 30.

Author’s Take:

It seems Liverpool defense and midfield is stretched at the moment. However, they will be facing less games and it will help in making players fresh. The break might be a crucial period for players to recover. For the next Premier League, they may not James Milner and Fabinho but will have Trent Alexander Arnold and Joe Gomez who will add more steel to defense.
