Real Madrid have endured a really difficult so season so far life has not been easy after a couple of high-profile departures in the summer
Going into game week 20, Real Madrid have just 36 points on the board and have already languished 10 points behind leaders and defending champions FC Barcelona. They have already done away with one manager in Julen Lopetegui and have replaced him, Santiago Solari. Although things have slightly improved under the former Galactico, they are not quite up to the standards that saw them lift the Champions league 4 times in 5 years. 42-year-old Solari has overseen 18 games, winning 13 of those.
Former Real boss Jose Mourinho has been constantly linked with a return to the Bernabeu ever since facing the sack at Manchester United. Speaking about these rumors, journalist and pundit Guillem Balague said,
“Jose Mourinho will be wanted until the end of his career there’s no doubt that there is always a place for him,” he said.
“I’m looking into this in a lot of details, I’m looking at sports psychologists under him, players who played against him and developed for him.
“It seems like he’s at a little bit of a crossroad, a little bit stuck, is he going back home to learn some more of his mistakes? Or does he think everyone else is at fault?
“The club who are rumoured to want him are Real Madrid but I just don’t see it.”
“I know Real Madrid are going through a transition, but the kind of project he [Mourinho] will want to lead is one requiring the type of money that Real Madrid doesn’t have anymore,” he added.
“I think it’s the threat of Mourinho that Real Madrid wants to use inside the camp that makes them all work very hard, and then he ends up not coming than a real factor.”

Mourinho had great success during his time as the manager of Real Madrid. He oversaw 178 games there and won 127 of these. He lifted the La Liga crown with them, and also set the record for the most points tally in the process. So he will always be an option for the Los Blancos as long as he isn’t managing any other club.
