The third test match between India and Australia at the MCG was won comprehensively by the visitors by 137 runs, who came back strongly after the defeat in Perth to take a 2-1 lead in the four match series. Apart from the contest between bat and ball, the on field banter between Australian skipper Tim Paine and Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant was one of the major highlights of the test match.
It was Paine who started the proceedings by having a go at Pant when he came out to bat on Day 3, offering him the role of a babysitter for his kids when he would go out for a movie with his wife. The 21 year old replied him in the best possible manner when he came out to bat in the fourth innings, referring to him as a temporary captain who only knew how to talk. The conversation between the two wicketkeepers was caught on the stump mic and provided some added spice to an already heated up encounter.

The two teams were invited to the Australian Prime Minister’s residence on the New Year’s Day where the 21 year old actually turned babysitter for Paine’s kids. Paine’s wife, Bonnie Maggs, shared a story on Instagram, in which Pant can be seen actually holding one of her kids with a hilarious caption, calling him the “best babysitter ever.”
The click and the caption have taken social media by storm and fans have come up with hilarious captions to describe the moment. The gesture was loved by various legends like Michael Vaughan and Harsha Bhogle who also decided to come up with interesting captions describing the same. While some twitter users came out in appreciation for the youngster for his sportsman spirit, others decided to just give their take on the beautiful gesture.

And that’s why cricket and life needs banter – OUTSTANDING from both

This is brilliant. The banter in this series has been fun and lighthearted and absent the recent bitter sledging that has been a blight on the sport. Long may it continue #AUDvIND https://t.co/myScUoBmcR

While arm chair critics and keyboard warriors increase their hatred against each other over on-field issues; real sportsmen show how and where to draw boundaries. This is as good and wholesome a picture you will ever see #RishabhPant #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/elXU6QloPQ

Rishabh Pant Babysitting Tim Paine's Babies
This is how it should be. Play hard. Banter on field should stay on field only, Not off it. Another reason to admire this Indian Team & Players #AUSvsIND #INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/I25Osnio3Z

Rishabh Pant has a safe pair of hands
Tim Paine had sledged Pant asking him at the MCG if he could babysit.
Tim’s wife Bonnie has given her verdict on Pant. She posted a story on Instagram and says Pant is the “best babysitter.”#AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/C6obqvTDsm
