Gary Cahill could be on the verge of leaving Chelsea in the January window after going out of favor under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea fans and players alike have so far expressed their satisfaction with Maurizio Sarri and his style of play, winning all four of their opening Premier League games. But Gary Cahill could not be counted among those happy ones, who according to Daily Mail is actively looking to quit the Stamford Bridge outfit unless he is played more in the team.
The 32-year-old is yet to feature under Maurizio Sarri this season as the Italian has switched formations and is playing with only two central defenders. David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger have started the season as Sarri’s preferred pairing, with Cahill and Andreas Christensen both considered backup options.

Cahill has not been named in a matchday squad this term and according to The Sun, the defender is willing to leave Stamford Bridge midway through the campaign.
The report also claims that Cahill is open to joining a Premier League rival and is hopeful that Chelsea would not stand in the way of his move. Cahill has spent over six years at Chelsea and has helped the club win two Premier League titles, the Champions League and the Europa League. Cahill’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season.
I think this might be the right time for him to go. He has had a great time at Chelsea, winning numerous trophies along the way. He’s 32 now and there are young, promising center-backs waiting for their chance. So, this might be the time to cash-in.
