Harry Kane and Sergio Ramos captained England and Spain respectively when these two top European sides faced off in the UEFA Nations League.
A lot has been talked about Sergio Ramos’ tussle on Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in the Uefa Champions League final. The foul forced Salah to leave the field and eventually helped Real Madrid take the control of the game. From Jurgen Klopp to Liverpool fans, from various footballers to Egyptian fans, a vast majority have come and criticized Ramos’ foul and termed it ‘Intentional’ and ‘Disrespectful’ to this beautiful game.
Sergio Ramos has already faced the wrath of the Liverpool fans as his so-called ‘Intentional’ foul scuppered their chances of clinching the much coveted UEFA Champions League.
While the question that whether the foul was intentional or accidental remains as a subject to debate, there is no denying that Ramos uses some tough tactics to thwart the opponents. He would go to any extent to defend the attacker for his team.
Harry Kane: “Sergio Ramos is a competitive player. A great defender on and off the ball. We played vs. him last year vs Madrid. He’s a tough centre-half. He wasn’t over the top, he didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. He tests the boundaries, but that’s what referees are for.” pic.twitter.com/xmWrvch468

Before England’s clash against Spain, their skipper Harry Kane was asked about Ramos’ tough tactics. The Tottenham Hotspur star said, “I haven’t spoken to Jordan about him or the Champions League final (defeat), I don’t think he would want to talk about that too much, as I wouldn’t,”
Harry Kane also lauded Sergio Ramos terming him as a great defender. The forward said, “But Ramos is a competitive player. A great, great defender on and off the ball. We played against him last year against Madrid. He’s a tough centre-half. He wasn’t over the top, he didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. He tests the boundaries, but that’s what the referees are there for”
In the UEFA Champions League final, Sergio Ramos did nothing wrong. It was a duel which both players tried to win. Unfortunately, in the end, Mohamed Salah got injured. Sergio Ramos did what other defenders would have done at the moment.
