Manchester United star reveals that Tottenham defeat is not the end of the world .

The Spanish midfielder said that everything was in their favour for most parts of the game and that it was just sheer misfortune that the match went away from their hands.

Manchester United star Ander Herrera confesses that despite the loss against the home match against the Spurs, there was nothing to grumble about their individual performances. He told that the players were brilliant in the field, possessed the correct Attitude, pace and skills required for winning the match. They even surpassed them in all departments till the first half and made them ill at ease by creating numerous opportunities in the form of brilliant crosses, free kicks and shootouts.

However, it was extremely unlucky of them not to convert their positivity into victory. “It’s easy to understand what happened,” the 29-year-old told reporters after the game against Spurs. “When you have 16 or 17 attempts, when you have so many opportunities to score in the first 60 or 70 minutes and you don’t do it, the opponent can score. The opponent can hurt you. They did it – they scored from their first corner – and what can we say?”

“We made them feel uncomfortable on the pitch, we had so many crosses, lateral free-kicks, corners. They were really uncomfortable in the game and at half-time, it was incredible we were not winning the game.“I think the commitment, the approach, the attitude, the way we faced the game was perfect. We didn’t let them build – one of the things they do well is building up and we didn’t let them do it.

He further added that some people may think that this margin of defeat at home was a complete disaster but it was not because they didn’t give up the battle without fighting. He expects the fans to keep up their faiths in the team and that assures that the Reds would surprise them in the next match with the same attitude and fighting spirit on Sunday. “The only thing we can do is look to the future and the next game. If we approach the game against Burnley the same way, with the same attitude and winning mentality, normally we should win the game. So, we can take good things [from Spurs] for the next game.”

Author’s take

The Spaniard infuses lost hope in the minds of the despaired fans who are eagerly waiting to see their team sparkle in red. He assures them a promising performance in the next game at the Turf on Sunday. But can he convert his verdict into the actual outcome ? We have to keep ourselves patient enough till Sunday for its revelation.
