Former Real Madrid star and a legend of this sports, Ronaldo, has agreed to buy this La Liga Club, which would see him become their New Club President!
Former FC Barcelona and Real Madrid striker and a Brazilian football legend, Ronaldo is in talks with La Liga Club Real Valladolid as reports suggest that the former World Cup winner would buy the newly promoted La Liga club for a reported fee of 30 million Euros. If Ronaldo indeed buys the club, it would see the widely adorned sporting figure become the club president of Real Valladolid, replacing Carlos Suarez who currently holds that position. It is reported that Carlos Suarez would remain in the club’s board.
Valladolid got promoted to the La Liga this season. In their inaugural game this season, they held Girona, who got promoted to the league last season, 0-0. In their next game, they faced off FC Barcelona and eventually ended up losing the game 1-0, with Ousmane Dembele scoring the winner for the defending La Liga champions.
According to AS, Ronaldo was cited, in January, as saying, “I would like to buy a team in the second division of Spain or England. I want to do something innovative.” In fact, Real Valladolid plied their trade in Spanish Second Division last season.
The club recently got into the headlines due to the poor quality of the pitch. Against FC Barcelona, it was widely visible as fans across the globe took it into the Social Media to voice their unhappiness on Pitch’s quality. It is also reported that La Liga would investigate Real Valladolid’s Pitch problems.
Adding credibility to the rumours that Ronaldo would buy the club is that former Club President of Valladolid Jose Moro was Ronaldo’s former wine partner. The Brazilian footballer, who is widely known as Fenomeno, previously had shares in an American outfit Fort Lauderdale Strikers.
If Ronaldo buys the club, it will be a commercial boost as well as a morale boost for the club. Ronaldo is a figure who has fans and admirers across the globe. He is not an unknown figure to the Spanish Football, having previously plied his trade for Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
