Pundit verdict on Fall-out between France outcast and Mourinho

Manchester United and manager Jose Mourinho are in the midst of lots of criticism after an unexpected defeat to Brighton last weekend which has led to the talks about a rift.

Manchester United performance was horrible against Brighton and according to the pundits, Anthony Martial is the worst player for them on the pitch. Sky Sports Pundit Phil Thompson comments on the players’ performance are quite harsh but absolutely correct in the last weekend’s match.

Thompson said,“Not one of them was (good enough).”

“Their attitudes were all poor and that was the problem with this side. You can flash some of the names up, but the performance was all on attitude.”

Liverpool Legend also surprised to see the changes at the half-time and thought the first player to move out of the field would be Martial as his performance is worst of all. He added, “Any one of the 10 outfield players could (have been taken off at halftime). I said at the time ‘if he doesn’t make two changes at halftime, he’s not the man I thought he was’.

“He made the two, but he left Martial on. I thought Martial was probably the biggest one. I don’t think he’s listening to Mourinho at all anymore. Then he makes that change 10 minutes into the second half and you’re saying ‘does he know his best team?’.

I just thought it was all over the place. Who’s going to play on Monday night (against Tottenham)? I have not a Scooby.”

Anthony Martial fall out in the pecking order last season after the arrival of Sanchez from Arsenal and not able to get himself into the game after that. The rift between Mourinho gets more intense after Martial extended his holidays after the birth of his second child in the summers.

Martial is linked with the move away from United throughout the summer but the deal doesn’t happen with Sevilla interested to take the player on the loan this season.

Author’s take:

Anthony Martial is a world-class talent and can be the answer for all the disparities of United without any doubt but all the rift and uneasiness can cost him and United too much loss of time. Martial and Mourinho need to settle their disputes as early as possible or they are going to hurt the team in their race to Premier League trophy this year.
