La Blaugrana is once again set to interfere in another party’s deal after reportedly targeting Sevilla’s Steven N’zonzi in the next few weeks.
With the transfer window set to end in the next few weeks, Barcelona is looking to make the most out of it. The La Liga champions have already lured in Sevilla’s Clement Lenglet to bolster their back line and have also added strength in depth to their midfield options after securing deals for Brazilian duo of Malcolm and Arthur.
However, Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is still not content and wants to make a splash for another midfielder before the window ends. The Spaniard is on the lookout for a backup option for Sergio Busquets in the holding midfield role. Initially, the Catalonian club was eyeing a move for Paris Saint Germain’s Adrien Rabiot but is now looking at alternatives which could potentially mess up another club’s negotiations.

According to Mundo Deportivo, World Cup winner Steven N’zonzi has been added to the list of potential back up options for Busquets after PSG have reportedly shunned out any negotiations for Rabiot. The French international has been a long-term target for Arsenal and reportedly wants to move away from Sevilla.
The 29-year-old midfielder has a great relationship with Gunners boss Unai Emery and that has prompted links of a possible move to the Emirates Stadium for N’zonzi. Barcelona recently hijacked a deal from AS Roma after stealing Malcolm and are now looking to do the same with N’zonzi before the transfer window ends. Having already come to an agreement with Sevilla over Lenglet, N’zonzi could be another great buy in this summer window for the Spanish giants.
If Emery wants to sign N’zonzi, he needs to act quickly because Barcelona is on the rampage. The Spanish club has done exceptional business and is looking to end Real Madrid’s dominance in the Champions League. Even N’zonzi would prefer to play in the Champions League with Barcelona than the Europa League with Arsenal.
