The Blues have finally put forward a price tag on their most valuable asset Eden Hazard which could potentially see him leave as the most expensive player.
With Chelsea finishing outside the top 4 spot last season, the West London club did not manage to qualify for the Champions League. This will also lead to a difficult summer as key players will want to leave Stamford Bridge in order to play the prestigious competition. One player who has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea is Belgian winger Eden Hazard with Real Madrid monitoring his situation closely.
Hazard has been the talisman for Chelsea over the past few seasons and was the standout performer last season as well a single-handedly winning the Blues the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley. New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is also keen to work with Hazard and wants him to remain at the club despite the lucrative offer of joining the Los Blancos. Hazard though has two years left on his current deal with Chelsea but has stalled contract extension talks worth £300,000 a week.
This has put Chelsea in danger of finally losing Hazard to the Champions League winners. Real Madrid views Hazard as the potential heir to Cristiano Ronaldo after the 33-year-old Portuguese captain left for Juventus in a €105 million deal earlier last week. And Chelsea is prepared to take advantage of that situation.
Chelsea Set Hazard Price Tag-
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will let Hazard leave only if Madrid offers a deal in excess of £200 million, which would make the star winger the most expensive transfer of all time beating Neymar’s £198 million record move from Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain last summer.
The Blues believes that Hazard is worth more than Neymar and therefore will sell him at a price worth £200 million.
I think that if Real Madrid wants to take a gamble on Hazard they should. Hazard is a player that will add a different class to the Spanish giants but the question is will Madrid want to pay such a hefty amount for Hazard?
