Manchester United’s new signing Diogo Dalot has sparked serious injury fears after getting spotted walking with the aid of crutches.
Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot has indicated injury fears to the manager Mourinho after getting spotted hobbling around on crutches. The 19-year-old full-back Dalot, who is ‘World’s Best Full Back’ proclaimed by manager Jose Mourinho and who made a £17.4 million move to Old Trafford is understood to use first few weeks at the club to recover from serious knee injury. Previously, Manchester United had big concerns about his knee and understood to have become true.
Manchester United’s medical staff have told the new signing to keep the weight off his leg and have kept hopes that he will be fit for the pre-season fixtures. The meniscus injury which Dalot gained last year ruled the last three matches of Porto’s season for the fullback.

There are still concerns over the availability of Diogo Dalot for the pre-season and the club haven’t provided any update yet. The first pre-season fixture of the Red Devils is against Club America in the Phoenix Stadium, Arizona on July 19.
Diogo Dalot is a highly rated fullback and is a promising teenager who has attracted many of the top European clubs. Outlining his defensive potential, Jose Mourinho said,
“He has all the attributes that a full-back needs: physicality, tactical intelligence and technical quality, combined with a Porto academy mentality which prepares players for the maturity they need at the professional level.”
“In his age group, he is the best full-back in Europe and we all believe he has a bright future ahead of him at Manchester United.”
Mourinho is said to have made a crucial role in Dalot’s decision to sign for United with 13 clubs believed to be keen on making a move. Various reports suggest that Dalot has a very key role in Mourinho’s plans for the 18-19 season. It will be a big concern for the manager if Dalot,s injury problem gets serious.
