The Blues have finally revealed that there are conversations with Italian club Juventus in order to do business with Alvaro Morata.
Since making the £60 million move from Real Madrid to Chelsea, Morata has really struggled to adapt in the Premier League. Despite scoring 13 goals and notching up six assists in his first season so far, the Spanish striker failed to have the desired impact that the Chelsea faithful were expecting of him. Morata’s injury concerns, as well as his poor form in front of goal led to a rather underwhelming campaign and the Blues, are already willing to offload him in the summer.
This has put Italian champions Juventus on red alert as they look to bring Morata back to Turin after he spent two seasons at the Italian club winning the domestic double of the Serie A and Coppa Italia in both seasons. And the Serie A side is ready to swoop in for him to resurrect his career once again after negotiating a deal with Chelsea.
The Morata Deal-
According to news outlet Calciomercato, Juventus directors Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici have decided to move forward with a deal for Morata. The Old Lady are currently worried about the transfer speculation revolving forward stars Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic which has prompted a move for Morata, who has enjoyed his most successful seasons in his career with Juventus.
The 25-year-old made 93 appearances and scored 27 goals for Juventus, he also scored seven of them in the Champions League which Juventus lost in the final, Morata incidentally scoring the one goal in the final against La Liga giants Barcelona.
Moreover, Juventus need to bolster their squad after they were given a real scare by Inter Milan and Napoli which almost cost them the Serie A title. The Italian giants are willing to offer Chelsea €15 million for a season-long deal with the option of signing the Spaniard on a permanent deal for €40-€45 million.
Morata is a really good player who just could not adapt to life at Chelsea. It’s understandable that the club has high standards and those who cannot live up to the expectations will be shown the exit door. The best deal for everyone is where Morata moves to Juventus in order to get more regular football and Chelsea gets back some of the money they spent on his services.
