Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has stated that the Reds attacker Mohamed Salah is the best player on the planet at the moment.
There are barely any players that are in hotter form than Mohamed Salah at the moment. Since making the switch from AS Roma to Liverpool last summer, Salah has been ripping apart record books and has amassed a smashing 43 goals in all competitions in a stellar debut season for Liverpool. Salah has guided Liverpool to third in the Premier League table and the Merseyside club also has one foot in the final of the Champions League.
And during Liverpool’s clash against AS Roma in the first leg of the semi-final at Anfield, Salah was the architect of his former club’s destruction. Salah opened the scoring with a spectacular curling effort and added his second just before the half-time break. The Egyptian then turned provider for his team-mates Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool demolished their Italian visitors 5-2 on a splendid night. And Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was absolutely dazzled by Mohamed Salah’s incredible scoring run and performances on the pitch.
Gerrard’s Mighty Praise For Salah-
The 37-year-old ex Liverpool midfielder, who won the Champions League back in 2005 said that Mohamed Salah is on a different rich vein of form, speaking to BT Sport Gerrard stated, “He’s in the form of his life It’s difficult to compare him to your Ronaldo’s and Messi’s because they’ve done it for so long and they’ve been consistent year in, year out. But without a shadow of a doubt, he’s the best player on the planet right now.”
I do believe that Salah is having an outrageous campaign and possibly a better season than either Messi or Ronaldo, but the key for the 25-year-old winger is to do this on a regular basis to be considered in the bracket of the best player on the planet.
