Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has stated that winning the FA Cup this season will be more difficult than it was the last term.
The Blues won the Premier League last season in Antonio Conte’s first season managing Chelsea, they also reached the final of the FA Cup and seemed favorites to confirm the double. However, their opponents in last season’s final Arsenal provided their London rivals a massive blow and clinched the victory despite giving away a one-goal advantage.
This season, Conte’s Chelsea sits fifth on the Premier League table and seem unlikely to finish in the top 4 which means they will miss out on Champions League football next season. But the Italian boss still has a chance to redeem himself slightly by adding some silverware to the trophy cabinet by potentially winning the FA Cup.
Chelsea faced Southampton in Sunday’s semi-final clash at Wembley and beat them 2-0 with both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud scoring. They will now face Manchester United in the now all-important final of the FA Cup on the 19th of May. But after the underwhelming season that Chelsea have had so far, Conte believes that winning the FA Cup this season will be much more Difficult than the previous year when they fell short against Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.
Conte Believes He Has A Massive Task In The Closing Stages of The Campaign-
Speaking at a presser, the 48 year old manager admitted his disappointment last season when Arsenal beat Chelsea in the final, “I must be honest and I think that last season we missed a great chance to win the FA Cup and, also in the Community Shield this season, we missed a great chance,”
Conte went on to state that this season will be a challenge to progress and lift the title because of the shape and moment his squad is in, “This season, I think that if you can win against Southampton and to reach the final it will be more difficult against Tottenham or Manchester United. Last season, we were in the best condition to win the FA Cup and I think we missed that chance last season and it was our fault.”, he explained.

I have to agree with Conte because Chelsea have had a disastrous season so far and even Conte’s job is now on the line. He has to show some character in order to save his blushes and will need to make sure that he at least makes it to the final.
