Luis Suarez may be staying put at Barcelona for a foreseeable future, but he has already found the player who could fill in his shoes once he parts ways with the Catalans.
Barcelona may not find a player of Luis Suarez’s ilk once he calls time on his tenure with the club. But El Pistolero himself has made their task easier beforehand. For he has found identified a player in PSV Eindhoven’s Hirving Lozano, as the man to replace him in the striker’s role after him.
The 22-year old is the latest to have emerged from the long conveyor belt of talents in the Dutch Eredivisie. He has had an instrumental role to play in PSV’s league triumph this term with 16 strikes and 8 assists. His returns are dwarfed only by AZ Alkmaar’s Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who leads by 18 goals. Albeit, those have come in four appearances more than the former (31 to his 27).
Having set the LIGA MX ablaze with his precocious talent during his time at Pahucha, Lozano has successfully carried a rich of vein form into Europe too. And this has naturally espied many prying eyes from the mightier quarters. Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United are all apparently lining up at his door. But the Mexican youngster could be a better fit with the Blaugrana according to Suarez.
Lozano is growing into a key figure with the El Tri too. With 7 goals and 27 caps under his belt already, manager Juan Carlos Osorio has also earmarked him as the future star of Mexico. He could also play a key role for his side at the upcoming Russian showpiece. Like Suarez, Lorano too thrives on services and is adept at picking out lucrative passes.
Not to mention his prodigious dribbling skills, something that the Uruguayan isn’t so profound at. He’s available for a price less than £31 million. So Barcelona may be in for a bargain.
A player of Luis Suarez’s stature cannot be replaced, per se. But Lozano seems to have the skill required to perform at a club as big as Barcelona. Even then, the move appears too soon as Suarez isn’t going anywhere any time soon, while they also have a backup striker in Paco Alcacer. Only if the latter were to vacate his place, would the signing seem more plausible.
