PSG confident of beating Manchester United and Chelsea to £50 million wonderkid

PSG have now entered the race for the highly rated youngster and are reportedly very confident of beating Chelsea, Manchester United and even Tottenham to his signature.

The starlet has been in incredible form for his current club, flourishing in the Championship this season despite being only 17 years old. However, now that Ryan Sessegnon has announced himself to the world with his performances, the English international now has Europe’s top clubs after his signature, with Fulham putting a massive £50 million transfer on his head.

The youngster has been one of the main reasons why Fulham Fc are on track to finding their way back into the Premier League from the Championship. The 17-year-old left-midfielder, who has spent most of this season as a left-back has scored 15 goals for The Cottagers in the Championship including a splendid hattrick earlier in the season.

However, Sessegnon’s performances for Fulham has attracted the world to his attention, including the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and French giants PSG, among others (including a chance to represent England at the World Cup in Russia). Half of the Premier League has sent scouts to watch the 17 year old in action this season, including both the Manchester rivals, Tottenham, Liverpool and many others.

But with Fulham dumping a massive £50 million transfer fee on his head most of them have stepped out of the race. Even Spanish giants Real Madrid have had a look at Ryan Sessegnon, after losing out on 18 year old Kylian Mbappe last season to PSG. However, now according to reports from the Express, PSG are highly confident that they can go on and beat the rest to Ryan Sessegnon’s signature, with the Parisians using Kylian Mbappe’s success as a pivot to attract the 17-year-old.

The 19-year-old former Monaco star joined the Parisian giants on loan last summer and has gone on to make 41 appearances, scoring 21 goals and producing a further 17 assists in his debut campaign for PSG and winning his second Ligue 1 title.

Meanwhile, both Chelsea and Manchester United remain in the race for the Fulham star despite the fact that Sessegnon inclusion as a nominee for the PFA young player of the year has only boosted his transfer fee and his presence in the footballing world. The Premier League giants are looking for reinforcements and hope that the attraction of playing Champions League football and remaining in England can lure the 17 year old.

Author’s take:

Ryan Sessegnon has been on fire for Fulham but he has done extremely well in the Championship, which is the second tier of English football. However, with Fulham looking very likely to get promoted to the Premier League, maybe his suitors should wait for another season and watch how the 17-year-old copes with the physicality and speed of English football’s top tier.
