The Blues are currently amidst a torrid season yet again after winning the title just the previous season.
Heads have dropped. Shoulders are down. Such is the condition at Chelsea at the moment. No player is standing up in the big games. The top 4 hopes have pretty much ended, as they sit 8 points adrift of Tottenham, who are in 4th at the moment. FA cup is the only competition that the blues are still competing for.
Due to such a poor season, fans are voicing a need for a major overhaul. And 9 players have been shortlisted, who could well be on their way out of Stamford Bridge in the summer. Lets have a look at them
Kurt Zouma has enjoyed a decent spell with Stoke City at loan, but his consistency has been down. He isn’t living up to the talent he has. This might just be the time for Chelsea to cash in on him
Gary Cahill has pretty much been outclassed by the other defenders at the Club. Already 32, his time as a Chelsea player seems to be coming to an end.
Olivier Giroud was signed in the January window but has failed to impress. With Morata now back scoring, his stay at the club could well end up being very short.
Pedro has lost his place in the starting XI due to strong performances from Willian. His age is also now creeping up on him, and he is looking a shadow of the player he was last season.
Cesc Fabregas has become slow and seems tired most of the times. He still is a passer of a very high calibre, but defensive midfield is not his position. At 30, he might look for a new club that plays him in his regular position.
David Luiz has fallen out of favour at Chelsea. He is apparently in Conte’s bad books, and not in the best of forms. His time to play at a top club seems to have ended.
Michy Batshuayi has been a revelation at Dortmund. A player who struggled for game time at Chelsea, has become a top goalscorer in the Bundesliga. He wouldn’t want to return to Chelsea to play second fiddle.
Thibaut Courtois is a top shot stopper, but his ”heart is in Madrid’ His family lives there, and some interest from Real Madrid is sure to lure him to his family.
Eden Hazard, arguably the best player at the club, has been pretty inconsistent this term. His career has stagnated at Chelsea, and a move to Madrid is all he needs to kick start his career once more.
If these players are to leave, Chelsea better find the utmost replacements, especially for superstars like Hazard, Courtois, and Fabregas. Chelsea are being linked with Isco, and Asensio, but a solid goalkeeper still hasn’t been identified. Chelsea better have a good transfer market, or another dismal season may follow.
