Top manager set to takeover Blues after expressing interest to Abramovich

Antonio Conte’s days with the Blues seem to come to an end with leading manager expressing interest to take over a new challenge to club owner Roman Abramovich.

The Italian Manager has failed to inspire the Blues after their sensational campaign last year. Things have taken a turn for the worst in 2018 as the London side have only been able to notch up 5 wins in 19 games. The FA Cup remains the only competition in sight for Chelsea after qualifying for the semi-finals.

Antonio Conte’s stint with the club has been in constant decline since the start of the season. This has triggered the Chelsea board to find a replacement for the Italian.

Initial reports claimed that the Blues shortlisted Luis Enrique, Thomas Tuchel, Carlos Ancelotti and Massimiliano Allegri. The former Barcelona manager was deemed as favourite initially. But, in a recent turn of events, a new favourite has emerged in the form of Allegri, who has taken a huge step to secure the job.

Allegri is on the lookout for a new challenge after conquering Serie A

Allegri could succeed Conte at Stamford Bridge next season

The Juventus manager, who has won three consecutive Serie A and Copper Italia titles with the club, is searching for a new prospect with the fourth consecutive title victory on the horizon.

Apparently, the prospect of clashing against some of the top managers in the world such as Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino and Pep Guardiola has had the Italian manager excited who has commenced to learn English and has paid a few visits to London recently. Allegri has managed to personally convince Roman Abramovich on his plans to take Chelsea over, next season.

Author’s Take:

Allegri’s demand for a new challenge seems fair enough after proving his capabilities with Juventus. The true challenge would be to conquer the Premier League with the necessary confidence in hand after knocking the Spurs out of the Champions Trophy, in the round of 16 fixture. The manager could also bring in some impactful signings to get Chelsea out of the massive rut, they are currently in.
