“He’ll not go to Real Madrid!” – ex-Liverpool star on Premier League sensation

There are talks of the Liverpool’s superstar forward’s potential move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool summer signing, Mohamed Salah, has been in sensational form this season. Having scored 29 league goals this season, his performances have evoked comparisons to the likes of Messi and Ronaldo as has has taken the Premier League by storm.

He is the key reason for Liverpool’s good performances this year, even after the departure of superstar Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona. Spanish heavyweights such as Barcelona and Real Madrid have been rumored to show interest in him, taking stock of his incredible consistency.

Former Liverpool player Charlie Adam, who spent one season for the Reds in 2011, does not believe that Salah can going to work his way into the elite Spanish sides like Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Speaking to TalkSport, he said: “Where’s he going to go? It’s difficult for him, where does he go?

“Will he get a game at Real Madrid? Will he get a game at Barcelona? “I don’t think he would. I think he will stay here at Liverpool.”

Former Liverpool star advices Mohamed Salah on a potential move to Real Madrid

Mohamed Salah has scored 37 goals this year in 42 appearances

Salah has scored the same amount of goals as Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo this season. He has also found the net on two more occasions than Lionel Messi. The Egyptian winger looks all set to break the Premier League all-time record for most goals scored in a 38-game season, needing 3 more goals to surpass Ronaldo and Luis Suarez’s jointly held record.

His former teammat,  Coutinho and former Liverpool star, Suarez are also said to have urged the Barcelona management to go after him, and Real Madrid have also been eyeing him. It is interesting to see this saga pans out in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Author’s Take :

Mohamed Salah needs to be careful. Early success can take a toll on players and can result in wrong decisions. Salah, a winger, will have to contend with the likes of Ousmane Dembele at Barcelona and Gareth Bale and Isco at Real Madrid. It may not be easy for him to nail down a spot, as Adam said.

This means either he will have to sit on the bench or have to change his position. He knows what has happened to Coutinho’s game at Barcelona. This can alter his success. He needs to spend more time in the club he is in and continue touching greatness.
