Maurizio Sarri could be on his way out of Napoli as he is open to a move to the Premier League
Maurizio Sarri’s incredible Napoli side has single-handedly been able to rejuvenate the interest in Serie A as they go neck and neck with Juventus in the race for Scudetto. The Italian tactician has been hailed for his understanding of the game and has been touted for a move away from Naples. Chelsea has appeared as his most likely destination with the Blues ready to part ways with Antonio Conte. The former Juventus manager has overseen a largely underwhelming season thus far.
Chelsea has now received a boost in pursuit of Sarri as his agent is supposedly ‘putting out feelers’ to gauge the interest in his client from the European elite. This news comes courtesy of Il Mattino who are saying that Alessandro Pellegrini, Sarri’s agent is expecting a lot of crazy offers for his client. The newspaper further goes on to state the current Napoli manager will have no qualms about jumping ship to the Premier League at the end of the season. Sarri’s stock has risen meteorically after Guardiola heaped praise on the former banker.
With a managerial merry go round expected to go through in the summer, Sarri’s future will be under much speculation. The story of Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich’s interest in the Italian broke earlier this week with several sources claiming that Abramovich is willing to pay up his release clause which currently stands at a measly €8 million. Napoli is interested in a renewal with talks expected to be started on Friday.
Sarri’s tactical acumen has come under the radar of several European heavyweights. Along with Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be on the lookout for a new manager. This will be an interesting summer when it comes to managerial changes.
